As one of few AfroLatinX women to graduate from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics and the second to graduate with a PhD in Physics from Syracuse University, Dr. Esquivel understands traversing spaces as the only and has a very personal recognition of the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion in the #STEAM space. Her areas of expertise include:
Science is for all
Dr. Esquivel values the importance of inclusive science communication
Keynotes, colloquia, plenaries...
Dr. Esquivel has the
vulnerability necessary to make #STEAM accessible
Dr. Esquivel’s superpower is being relatable, accessible, and authentic. She has honed a skill mostly overlooked in the #STEM field, the art of Science Communication. Her vulnerability of discussing hard topics like the issues faced throughout her education allows for people to see the humanity behind the science.
Dr. Esquivel understands the importance of storytelling and is able to weave her story while talking about the complicated and innovative physics she encounters everyday, intertwining the two and making it that much more enticing! Dr. Esquivel loves particle physics, data science, and science communication and looks forward to partnering with you to share her passion with you!
